*Ballad session 2008*

A multidisciplinary approach, with a whole new different touch, with the Professor of Surgery and Dean of Medicine taking it on stage together....a big round of applause to them!!

It was the epitome of perfection..duets,dances,talented musicians and beautiful voices filled the lecture theatre yesterday night, marking the last ever ballad session I will be attending in my medical school years...sniff sniff....going to miss all of it so much.
But I must say wow! Thumbs up to all who spent those many hours blowing their lungs out, strumming away their finger tips and straining their vocals...From Guang Liang's "Tong Hua", Diana Ross's "When You Tell Me That You Love Me" to Eric Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight", oh and not forgetting Kenny G and a wonderfully improvised version of jazz ..it was truly a night to behold. For 3 and a 1/2 hours, we clapped and cheered for our fellow classmates who were doing their best to entertain us. Even if it was not the perfect score, just on the basis of sportsmanship and lots of courage, it seemed perfect. At least to me;-)
A lovely saxophone inspired jazz score

Then, there was the dedications. Of love. One doctor started it off, and an endless string of other dedications followed. Ooo, how romantic ya* Even the Dean dedicated a song to the Head of Psychiatry,a woman, forgetting that his wife was among the audience. Ooops. Haha, well cant blame him, he was set up by the Professor of Surgery.

The turnout was excellent. Well, it was mainly the final meds but it was our show anyway. I am so glad that I went. I did not perform this year though. Should have but oh well, nevermind. Looking back, instead of being under the spotlight, being among one of audience was rather fun for a change...
